My Corporate Encounters
Moi journey in the corporate world started with two on-campus
offers:
LnT and Saint Gobain.
Don't ask me how i got them (threw
a lot of gyan to LnT about the
selection procedure and voila moi was the only one to be selected)
(In
Saint Gobain just went thru their annual report presented to
us before
interview and asked about their falling ROI, hr got bowled over)
I
am sure that any other person across the table wud ve realised my
true potential and not dare to hire me.
neways, chose the
later one as it offered the marketing
profile...supposedly the most glamorous of all profiles. And
as
expected it tuned out to be one atleast for a long time. My
designation
was BDE - supposedly Business Development Engineer, though we
all knew
it meant Bharat Darshan Engineer. Went through all glamour,
the best of
food, travel and stay. The honeymoon period lasted longer than
expected.
Finally got an independent territory a t Nasik. All hopes of
fun, thrill, friends, company seemed sinking. neways moi didn't
lose heart
n chose the most happening place in Nasik to stay - College
Road (as
the name suggests, it had three of the best colleges of nasik)
So
the cool weather, excellent eat outs all around, babes at the
weekend mba classes and a cosy home at that strategic location,
all
helped me spend 2005 in Nasik.
Then came Mumbai calling -
moi got transferred to Mumbai, but before i
could take charge i suddenly found myself choosing from too
many opions
coming my way - promotion and the most important sales territory
(Mumbai), a half a million rupee job with Castrol and an admission
at
SCMHRD. It was too much to absorb and digest. I prioritised
- Mba is a
must so Scmhrd above job and among jobs Castrol above Saint
Gobain so
resigned and joined Castrol at Kolkatta. I started building
this
website while in Kokatta.
Two months into Castrol, kicked
that also and joined Scmhrd. But i
don't repent on any of my decisions. So the life has been a
roller
coaster ride in the last few years.
